VISION, & MISSION
Founder Joe Putnam grew up in a service-connected family – an Army BRAT born in Germany to a Vietnam Veteran and retired Army Dad and Mother who retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers after a distinguished 30-year career. With family members serving across generations — military culture was never abstract. It was part of daily life.
Joe called the San Diego, CA region home for over 20 years – immersed and proud of friends and neighbors who served in-uniform and the civilians who served our country with pride and honor.
A growth path that led to visual storytelling.
A native Oregonian, Joe earned a degree in Design and Photography from Oregon State University, focusing on creating work that carries meaning—not just decoration.
That same mindset drives everything he builds here. In addition to Rally Point Goods, Joe has had a successful career in the creative field as a designer and photographer - contributing in market segments from sport and action good, luxury goods, higher education and community non-profits. What started as a simple idea has grown into a mission: create handcrafted pieces that honor identity, service, and shared experience.
The inspiration for these coasters started at the table surrounded by family and friends that serve. My brother — an Army soldier and home-brewer—wanted something that reflected the pride of unit life and the camaraderie built after long days in the field. Another brother served as an Army photographer and now works in communications for the VA, continuing a lifelong commitment to telling the stories of those who serve.
